About Counselling and Psychotherapy

As a therapist, I can help you gain a perspective about what may be troubling you in a safe, confidential space. Together we can work to identify what may be stopping you from reaching your full potential and identifying the right course of action for you. My therapeutic training helps me to identify underlying causes of presenting problems. The aim of psychotherapy is to understand and accept yourself, to change your behaviour to allow yourself to be the kind of person you want to be.

In the therapy room, I will listen without judgment and will guide you to find solutions within yourself. I will not tell you what to do or how you should be. Psychotherapy aims to empower you and encourage independence and autonomy.

Many people find talking to someone that is disconnected from other parts of their life useful, as we talk about things with a different perspective and gain insights that we would not otherwise have gotten from talking to a friend.

If you are looking for someone to talk to and help you through difficult times, please do contact me.

People seek counselling for many different reasons which may include; depression, anxiety, bereavement, eating disorders, self harm, abuse. Some people may just know that they are dissatisfied with their life but not really sure what the problem is.
